Did you know three children die every minute because of the dirty, contaminated water they are forced to drink?
Water is vital for human need, yet over 750 million people around the world do not have access to clean, safe water, which is causing deaths and destroying lives. Building a Water Well provides reliable access to safe, clean water for years to come which can save thousands of lives every day. This also means many more lives can be transformed, a local well means people do not have to walk for hours just to collect water. This gives them more time to focus on other important things like education & more time to work. A source of clean water is vital for people, their communities and the rest of our ecosystem.
The charity Penny Appeal, ‘Thirst Relief’ project, is building Water Wells in 9 countries, providing safe water to drink, wash and clean, to grow crops and to water animals. This can lead to healthier lives, a better chance to go to school or work, and a route out of poverty. After our donations are made and once the well is built, Penny Appeal Charity will send a feedback report so we can see the well in action and see images of the people it is supporting. The images will be regularly updated on this page & the blog.
